Hardrock Pacing

The Hardrock 100 started a few hours ago under clear blue skies, and I’m on my way down into town to work the Ouray aid station (mile 45.9) in a bit until John Sharp arrives.  After that, I will be pacing him to the finish (approximately 24-30 hours later).  I’ve laid out my gear (most of it), and it’s amazing how much stuff I am taking.  In these mountains, you just never know what you will encounter.  Yesterday at the briefing, the race director warned us to watch out for sheep dogs.  That’s a first for me.  And thus begins my 48+ hour adventure.
